SURFACES

Launching for spring the SURFACES range are all hand crafted in our London studio. Each of the designs have been informed by the studios sculptural practice and the discovery of repeated experimentation with Jesmonite. The series reminisce on the 17th century Italian technique of Scagliola, a method developed to create replica versions of semiprecious stones and their naturally occurring patterning and inflections. 

The range offers a crafted product with personal technique to create one-off displays - as each is made entirely by hand, no two will ever be the same.

The colours which make up the series, range from an inclination towards fresh spring pastels, to others leaning towards 70’s hues. Other bolder combinations reference galaxy-esque amalgamations of black with minute peppering's of white or pale green ribbons. The combinations suggest movement which also bring to mind their natural stone counterparts system of creation, where combinations of rock are formed out of pressure and compaction.

The series offers the opportunity to incorporate both tiled or larger scale surfaces in these uniquely marbled and dappled designs.
